A little background on Kate’s…
The original bar, The Tram Bar, was made out of a need to have pocketable nutrient dense fuel that would sustain me all day long at the demanding Jackson Hole Ski Resort.
I would pull ingredients out of my cupboard and see what I could mix up. It wasn’t long before I had friends asking for some. The recipe kept changing til what it is now. I was changed when I learned more about the importance of organic foods while working at the Cosmic Apple Gardens, an organic CSA farm here in Victor, ID. My bars changed to…to mostly organic ingredients.
So, eventually, I was convinced to sell my bars, and I sold my one true recipe for years to local stores here in the Jackson Hole area while I worked 2 other jobs, and still got out to play in the mountains. A good life it was!
People began to call me from out of state who wanted to order the bars after trying them when they visited J-Hole. Soon enough we were selling them online. I added the Grizzly Bar for an outfit in the Grand Teton National Park, Jenny Lake Boating, a small independently owned company who takes park visitors over Jenny Lake to some beautiful hikes in the park.
Las year, I quit my other jobs, I grabbed a partner, and decided to go for it. As of 3 weeks ago, we now have 2 new flavors, the Handle Bar (a dark chocolate, almond, cherry) and the Stash Bar (peanut butter dark chocolate flax and hemp). Now that I have time and a few good players working with me, we are spreading the word quickly as to how addictingly delicious our real food bars are.
We are working our butts off here to get the company growing and known. We just moved into a new facility that houses all of our departments. We ship direct. Our customers currently get personal attention from us. This will not change. I believe a company is built and succeeds by having good working relationships. Our customers are not only buying a good product, they are in a sense buying what our company is about, real food, real energy, real fun, real play, real living. This what makes me tick, what makes me want to build the company. We want to give fun and good food to people, and that is where my mission comes from.
Our mission here is to support organic sustainable agriculture, and promote and support play opportunities. Currently, we support local trail building groups, and have some sponsored athletes and teams.
Our employees have the opportunity to work at the Cosmic Apple Gardens as a work share on Fridays to help support one of our local farms.
We hope to build on our beliefs while supplying super tasty food that makes any play, life, or adventure more of an experience.
